National Alliance core activities:
Policy Dialogue:
participating in the policy dialogue on food and nutrition security held by the National Food Security Council.
Development and technical programs:
disseminating best practices actions on community development for improving household food security. This is done through internal and inter-institutional meetings, discussion and field visits.
Advocacy: Provide inputs to the policy makers, national and regional, on the formulation of policy and program for food security development and balanced nutrition consumption.
Coordination: NAAHM activities mostly carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture Indonesia. Some with the FAO and WHO Representatives in Indonesia

Core achievements and National Alliance activities/projects implemented:
- Advocacy dialogue on food insecurity issues andlesson learnt story of other districts, in Food Security officein Pandeglang district,December 2007.
- Promotes Government (G) –Business (B) –Community (C) partnership on the production of modified cassava flourto 5 districts with reference of Trenggalek District, December 2008.
- Facilitates East Timor Food Summit 2008 with the declaration on “collaboration for fighting againts hunger” by governor, majors, members of House of Representatives , and NGOs of East Timor Province.
- Facilitates 3 Counties in Timor Island (Sumba Timur, Flores Timur, Timor Tengah Utara) in implementing Village Food Resilience Program. Commitment was declared at the NTT Food Summit 2008.
- Support the establishment of Village Food Stock in 4 Counties of Yogyakarta: GunungKidul, Kulonprogo, Sleman, Bantul, 2009.
- Promote local based food diversification in some districts, 2012.
Activities/Projects implemented in 2012:
- Technology assessment in 4 districts in East Java (2012), covering the following activities:Listening session to 35 farmers of each districts including women and young farmers (FGD); analyse problems and opportunities for small farmers, including access to technology, capital, and infrastructure in rural areas; organization involves: University of Brawijaya, Assessment Institute for Agricultural Technology, MoA (BPTP) in East Java,Financed by Winrock International.
- Study on Food Price Volatility Impact on food security, Bekasi, West Java, 2011, Bekasi and Cianjur, West Java, 2012 funded by OXFAM.
